We welcome you to join us in celebrating the culmination of our studio art seniors’ years at Florida Southern College. The Studio Art Senior Thesis Exhibition this year is especially impressive.  You will be delighted and inspired by the creativity and brilliance of the work. The students use this work in their portfolios, which many send off to apply to graduate schools. Each year, several of our intelligent, highly motivated studio art seniors go on to top graduate programs.

Graphic Design Senior Thesis Exhibition

The department of art and art history at Florida Southern College is pleased to present work by our senior Graphic Design students. We welcome you to come see the creativity and professionalism that Florida Southern’s senior graphic designers have to offer in print and digital media. They make-up and brand their own companies to show off their skills. The senior graphic design awards are announced at the opening reception.

All Student Exhibition 2013

This exhibition displays art from our freshmen, sophomore, junior (and occasionally senior) art majors! This exhibition is displayed annually to demonstrate why our department has gained the reputation as one of the strongest in the Southeast.

The All Faculty Exhibition

We are pleased to present a retrospective exhibition of works from the late artist Fonchen Lord who lived in Lakeland between 1949 and 1993. Her works have been exhibited in major galleries across the United States, and re on display at several different college campuses including Florida Southern College, Harvard University, Miami University, and the Winter Haven campus of Polk State College. Fonchen’s diverse collection of artwork–ranging from two-dimensional drawings and paintings from teh 1960s and 1970s to the minimalist three-dimensional sculptures of her later career–is included in our remarkable exhibition. Exhibition is open Monday through Friday 9am-5pm beteen September 20 and October 10, 2013.
